Kramers Health Foods on South Wabash in the Loop. I saw it as I was exiting my class building so I thought I'd go in for a bottle of shampoo... I was shocked by the size of the store and the amount of products they had.<br />
<br />
You walk in and there are coolers of healthy pre-made foods from kale salads, to sandwiches, to vegan and gluten free nachos. Not to mention the amount of cold drinks they had with the most healthy ingredients. I got a Bragg Organic ACV Apple Cinnamon drink and it was delicious. Only 32 calories!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaq4vnqg0mLH4yB9JHjEr306rEa_D5tkcD4DIlPPVPZfZZMwvqTDuq8uadCUkUmTQnWYjiEqhaPeoc5tvseb8tE7QaQvhjxvtzEbncwjBPChYsh6GoJ8FXGMWseTlb1QwXXgCFsJUx96fz/s1600/image+copy+2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaq4vnqg0mLH4yB9JHjEr306rEa_D5tkcD4DIlPPVPZfZZMwvqTDuq8uadCUkUmTQnWYjiEqhaPeoc5tvseb8tE7QaQvhjxvtzEbncwjBPChYsh6GoJ8FXGMWseTlb1QwXXgCFsJUx96fz/s1600/image+copy+2.jpeg" height="320" width="240" /></a>Keep walking down the store and there are aisles and aisles of nutritious protein bars, vitamins, supplements, <br />
homeopathic remedies, healthy snacks, teas, and a mini grocery section FILLED with non-GMO, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free foods that were priced fairly well. It will make you want things you never knew you needed. Never thought you needed bee pollen capsules? You do now. I don't know what Fenugreek Seed is but I want it.<br />
<br />
The right side of the store has everything beauty related ranging from makeup, to hair products, to mouth care, to soaps and everything in between. Of course I picked up a few things... An aloe vera shampoo for oily hair, a bee pollen soap, and Now Solutions sweet almond oil. So excited to try out my new products and expand my cabinet of natural products.<br />
<br />
Upstairs they have a Cafe that I unfortunately didn't have time to go in, but from the looks of it, it seemed great! Pressed juices, salads, soups and sandwiches. I'll have to go back one day after class.<br />
<br />
I'm so happy I finally went into Kramer's because I know it will become a staple store for me.<br />

Spring is finally here! Because it is getting warmer, I've switched up my skincare a little with my products from iHerb.com</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicRtcjFCoH5hu5dmkOaT6m-sLqgSDSdbPNaGECIi3e-Cc2zwrmkRkl5Fv5If2GzH5zmG7UqX6vk2CtRnmYwRIcNlfMFHqixCF-oFhJi38kg7YJr8Tsrar75sYuRdy-eN3hVHzFub4g8vpO/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-04-09+at+12.59.39+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em; text-align: left;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicRtcjFCoH5hu5dmkOaT6m-sLqgSDSdbPNaGECIi3e-Cc2zwrmkRkl5Fv5If2GzH5zmG7UqX6vk2CtRnmYwRIcNlfMFHqixCF-oFhJi38kg7YJr8Tsrar75sYuRdy-eN3hVHzFub4g8vpO/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-04-09+at+12.59.39+PM.png" height="200" width="106" /></a><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
I wash my face morning and night with the NutriBiotic Non-Soap Skin Cleanser. I love this stuff! It's a PH balancing cleanser so it doesn't leave that tight, dry feeling. It's fragrance free, paraben free, all that good stuff. Highly recommend! <a href="http://www.iherb.com/NutriBiotic-Skin-Cleanser-Sensitive-Skin-Fragrance-Free-16-fl-oz-473-ml/13314" target="_blank">Purchase</a></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm still using the Thayer's Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner (morning and night.) I don't think I'll be using a different toner for a very long time. This one is natural, smells amazing and gives your face that extra step of feeling really clean. And it's alcohol free! <a href="http://www.iherb.com/Thayers-Rose-Petal-Witch-Hazel-with-Aloe-Vera-Formula-Alcohol-Free-Toner-12-fl-oz-355-ml/6792#p=1&oos=1&disc=0&lc=en-US&w=thayers%20rose&rc=2&sr=null&ic=1" target="_blank">Purchase</a></div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
During the day I use the Aubrey Organics Every Day Basics Moisturizer. I do like this moisturizer a lot, but it's not the absolute best I've ever used. You need a very minimal amount because a little goes a looong way with this stuff. I rub it between my hands and apply a layer to my face to where the moisturizer gets very white. I let it sit for a few seconds and then I really rub it in. You can tell upon using this product that it really sinks into your skin. It controls my oily skin without drying. <a href="http://www.iherb.com/Aubrey-Organics-Every-Day-Basics-Moisturizer-Normal-Oily-Skin-1-7-fl-oz-50-ml/48077" target="_blank">Purchase</a> </div>

<div style="text-align: left;">
At night I have been using the Now Solutions Avocado Oil. Now, although I do have oily skin, for whatever reason, avocado oil doesn't increase the oilyness in my skin over night. It really seeps into the skin and doesn't just sit as a layer above your pores. This is the greatest way of moisturizing I have ever found for my skin type. <a href="http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Solutions-Avocado-Oil-4-fl-oz-118-ml/899" target="_blank">Purchase</a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Finally, before bed I apply a little 100% cocoa butter to my lips for extra moisture at night. <a href="http://www.iherb.com/Cococare-100-Cocoa-Butter-The-Yellow-Stick-1-oz-28-g/5833" target="_blank">Purchase</a> </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
My skin has never looked so "normal" and clear before and I really believe it's from these products. Using more natural products has really helped me and I encourage others to make the switch. I have even received a few compliments on how nice my skin has looked lately, which is always a great boost of confidence!</div>

<span style="text-align: justify;">One of my favorite Spring trends is ombre hair. I think the idea is so cool and it gives an awesome twist to your look. I think it's a great way to transition into the Spring season if you want lighter hair but you don't want too much of a drastic change. I actually prefer the more subtle ombre effect rather than those who go overboard. It has to be done right or else you'll look like you haven't been keeping up with your hair appointments (see Ciara below.) But with that being said, this is a grate style for someone who can't run to get their hair done every 6 weeks, as long as it's done gradually enough the first time and it will continue to grow out that way. I have been wanting to get a slight ombre for a while and now that my roots are really growing out, I think I just might go for it! </span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think of this trend? </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The products I ordered from iHerb.com on Sunday night arrived so quickly (it's only Tuesday!) I didn't even pay for shipping, so 10 points for iHerb right off the bat! For this post I'm just going to show what I got and discuss my initial thoughts on each item (packaging, smell, taste, etc.) Refer to the picture above for what each product looks like.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1. <b>Reviva Labs Intercell Hyaluronic Acid Night Gel</b>. The first thing I notice is the expiration sticker. 2/17. Most creams/gel/lotions don't have an expiration date, and if they do, I don't notice. This was $9.80 and the container is pretty small so I'm hoping I don't need a lot of product. It smells like the Flarp Putty I used to play with as a kid... It feels nice on my hand, pretty light and the scent goes away after a few seconds. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2. <b>Every Man Jack Deodorant</b>. First thought: really nice packaging. The cap really suctions back onto the top so that is nice and something I haven't seen before. It smells good (scent is cedarwood), but like a less-strong version of Old Spice. It seems like a normal clear stick deodorant with more organic ingredients, which is what we're going for here!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3. <b>Now Solutions Xyli White Toothpaste</b>. I got the mint flavor and that it is- very minty. Its a gel formula but it's kind of oily. Tastes good, though!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. <b>NutriBiotic Non-Soap Skin Cleanser</b>. This is what I'm most excited for. This is a fragrance free, ph balanced, hypoallergenic, and paraben free facewash. This had great reviews, so hopefully I like it. It doesn't really have a scent, but it kind of smells like gel (if that's a thing?) It has a really jelly-like formula, too. The bottle is huge and this was under $6, so thats great!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5. <b>Now Solutions Avocado Oil</b>. This is 100% pure avocado and it's supposed to be amazing for your face. It can also be used on the scalp as a conditioner or as an emollient. It doesn't really smell like much, a little bit like oil. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. <b>Cococare Argan Oil</b>. I got this for my hair as opposed to using something from a drugstore that only has a little Argan Oil in it. The only ingredient in this bottle is 100% pure authentic and expeller pressed Argan Oil. To my surprise, this doesn't have any scent at all. The ones you buy from CVS that smell amazing, that's all fragrance. Argan Oil doesn't actually smell like that (I have just learned.)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">7. <b>Nature's Way AKN SkinCare</b>. This formula had extremely high reviews saying their skin cleared and looked perfect from the inside out. They smell like... vitamins... which they are. Not much to say here. I'm really, really hoping these take away the bumpiness in my skin.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">8. <b>Cococare The Yellow Stick</b>. This is just a thick stick of 100% cocoa butter. It's hard to open, so initially, I don't like the packaging. The plastic already cracked on the side, but this was only $1.79. I don't even care about that though because this stuff tastes SO GOOD. It melts on your skin and lips. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">9. <b>Now Solutions Better Stevia</b>. This was one of my freebies. Thank god, because this stuff tastes horrible (on its own at least.) Like bitter medicine. No words. How is this used as a sweetener? Someone explain.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">10. <b>Aubrey EveryDay Basics Moisturizer</b>. When purchasing, I didn't realize how small this was. It's only 1.7 fl oz. But it's chalk full of organic oils and extracts, and I can pronounce every ingredient! It smells like lavender and feels very moisturizing on my hand- good consistency. I think I'll like this.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">11. <b>Sierra Bees Organic Honey Lip Balm</b>. Last but not least, this is like a smoother Burts Bees type of chapstick. Tastes and smells good and the ingredients are: EVOO, Beeswax, Flavor (?), Sunflower Seed Oil, Non GMO Vitamin E, Honey Extract (all organic.) Love it!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So far, so good! I'm happy with my picks and can't wait to start using them! Hopefully, I'll love these and they can replace my current chemical filled products that are taking over my bathroom. I'm extremely happy with the website (<a href="http://iherb.com/" target="_blank">iHerb.com</a>). The shipping was free and it got here in 2 days. 2! I also got $10 off and they have such a great variety of products to choose from. I will definitely be shopping there from now on! I highly recommend!</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
With the warmer months approaching I thought I would compile my Spring 2014 Makeup Essentials. Let's get ready for Spring with a focus on peach, coral and hot pink!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Blush</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. NYX Rouge Cream Blush in "Hot Pink" ($6). Cream blush is great for the warmer days because it lasts much longer than powder blush if you're going to be hot and sweaty. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Bare Minerals The Ready Blush in "The Aphrodisiac" ($22). This peachy coral shade is perfect for a spring day and will add a nice pop of color to the cheeks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. NARS blush in "Deep Throat" ($30). Use this blush when you need a little shimmer in your life! This shade really illuminates your cheeks with a peachy glow.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. MAC Cosmetics blush in "Trace Gold" ($21). This is one of my favorite Spring and Summer blushes because of its unique shade. It's a golden shimmer that can also be used as a highlight. Very Greek Goddess-esque!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Lips</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Revlon Color Burst Matte Balm in #235 "Mischievous" ($8.99). Matte lips are a big trend for spring so try out this cute orange shade for something new and different.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
6. Revlon Matte Lipstick in "Stormy Pink" ($6.99). A really pretty Barbie hot pink. Be sure to have moisturized lips when applying matte lip products because they are very drying.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
7. MAC Cosmetics lipstick in "Coral Bliss". The perfect coral lip shade for Spring.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u>Bronzer</u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<u><br /></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
8. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in "Sunny" ($2.99). This is a cult favorite bronzer and the price can't be beat! This is a great shade if you have paler skin but want to add a little color that will look natural without the shimmer. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
9. NYX Matte Bronzer in "Medium" ($9.00). This bronzer is comparable to #8^, but comes in a few darker shades. </div>
<br />
<u>Highlight</u><br />
<u><br /></u>
10. MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in "Lightscapade" ($30). This is my all time favorite highlighter for the Spring. Its really light and subtle but it gives a really pretty glow when the sun hits you. It looks awesome on tan skin!<br />
<br />
<u>Nails</u><br />
<u><br /></u>
11. Essie "Romper Room"($8.50). This is a new shade from their Spring Collection. Great for a neutral nail.<br />
<br />
12. Essie "Style Hunter"($8.50). I am obsessed with this color! It is also from their new Spring Collection. A buildable hot pink. I did three coats to get it really opaque but if you're looking for a hot pink that can also be worn sheer, this is your color.<br />
<br />
<br />
What are your Spring essentials for the upcoming season?<br />

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><u><br /></u></span></span>
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><u>Makeup Remover</u><o:p></o:p></span></span></div>

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Olive Oil </i>or <i>Coconut Oil</i>. Simple as that. This comes in both liquid and bar, but I prefer the bar soap. Dr. Bronner's is an amazing brand that is 100% natural, cruelty-free and vegan. I have only tried their soap, but my parents have used their products forever. They have lotions, lip products, shaving cream, etc. They smell amazing and are inexpensive too, at $4.69 a bar. </span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I like this soap because it doesn't give my skin that tight feeling after I wash it off. I found this product on a whim off of Amazon.com and I am so happy I bought it! This product is alcohol free so it won't dry out your skin. This toner has witch hazel in it which is often used medicinally, but also for acne. If you like the smell of rose, then you will looove this scent. Since using this, I have noticed a difference in my skin's texture. It is more calm and feels more smooth to the touch. Who knew that something that smells as bad as vinegar would be a miracle, multi-use product?! Not only does ACV have a ton of health benefits when you drink it, but it can also be used as a toner. I thought it would be harsh on my sensitive skin, but not at all! Once you get past the smell, it feels really nice on your skin and the smell does go away once it dries. I take about one part vinegar to two parts water, mix it up and put it on a cotton pad. Feel free to dilute it to your skin's liking. ACV is amazing for skin because it naturally balances the ph, which means it will equal out the oily and dry patches. It also helps with big pores and acne scarring. </span></span></div>

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">*Can also be used as a conditioner! Again, mix 1 part ACV- 2 or 3 parts water. After shampooing, apply to scalp and hair and let it sit for about 2 minutes. Makes hair feel great- shiny and moisturized!</span></div>

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask</i>. This is a mask made out of 100% bentonite clay and it's awesome. <b><span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">WARNING</span></b></div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Don't be fooled by a product that claims to be "ALL NATURAL". Familiarize yourself with unnatural ingredients and check all the products you buy. I have recently come to find that LUSH, the all natural cosmetic company, actually puts methylparaben and propylparaben in quite a few of their products. BAD. Unfortunately I realized this after purchasing the Ocean Salt face scrub (which I love, so this really sucks.) Moral of the story, check the ingredients on everything!!! Don't be lazy, read the label.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here's safecosmetics.org's schpiel on why you should care about parabens: </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18.6200008392334px;">Parabens are used to prevent the growth of microbes in cosmetics products and can be ab</span><span style="line-height: 18.6200008392334px;">sorbed through skin, blood and the digestive system. Parabens have been found in biopsies from breast tumors at concentrations similar to those found in consumer products. Parabens may be found in a wide variety of products including shampoos, lotions, deodorants, scrubs and eye makeup, and are found in nearly all urine samples from U.S. adults regardless of ethnic, socioeconomic or geographic backgrounds. Adolescents and adult females had higher levels of methylparaben and propylparaben in their urine than did males of similar ages.</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18.6200008392334px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18.6200008392334px;">Your skin is an organ and anything that gets applied directly to it will end up in your blood stream... Whoever chose the music for the show was a genius and deserves more credit. I found the best songs (in my opinion) from the show and compiled it into one big playlist & it took weeks! Feel free to follow the full playlist on Spotify <a href="http://spoti.fi/1idUlCq" target="_blank">I'm Chuck Bass</a>.<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
1. Hummus. One of my favorite things in the world. Hummus is a great alternative to any dip because it's really healthy! Skip the chips and buy cucumber, celery or carrots to dip in the hummus. If you're feeling brave try and make your own! All you need is a small (magic bullet like) blender, one can of garbanzo beans, oil, garlic, and some spices! Sesame tahini makes it better but if you don't have it, it's not a big deal. Blend it all up and voila- hummus! You can add hot sauce for spice, avocado, edamame, or anything you enjoy into the dip. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKWdNMVyOY0YAIsJblGHl3W5d2aObrX6Z-TDZdQOTVNfn5QQdppJel4tJRQLnfTt0PNny_ET9NJmz3poLq2twAuSd2HC-cDVBTHxeCAxuEH18NJDeo9XPM7vBxdIsUWi8eb3O3uoXGZ0C-/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-23+at+4.47.40+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKWdNMVyOY0YAIsJblGHl3W5d2aObrX6Z-TDZdQOTVNfn5QQdppJel4tJRQLnfTt0PNny_ET9NJmz3poLq2twAuSd2HC-cDVBTHxeCAxuEH18NJDeo9XPM7vBxdIsUWi8eb3O3uoXGZ0C-/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-23+at+4.47.40+PM.png" height="200" width="130" /></a>2. Quinoa & Black Bean Chips. If you are a chip lover, I have found the most amazing chips from Trader Joe's- Quinoa and Black Bean Infused Tortilla Chips. I am obsessed with these things. They're gluten free, have all natural i<br />
ngredients and not to mention delicious. I'm talking almost better than a potato chip...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmeY7WTsoZRSABM_MqtFQuc5ONZLgwsoVYE783mByNObmnKpWiv5u9PfspSoKgXq5cKIL3LORWY3JkT2jTSPW9umacEiHP6B1G9tLDpvbjOW_zikp56iZlifxLQbZU0hnvTg2F2Gq7esJj/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-23+at+4.48.45+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmeY7WTsoZRSABM_MqtFQuc5ONZLgwsoVYE783mByNObmnKpWiv5u9PfspSoKgXq5cKIL3LORWY3JkT2jTSPW9umacEiHP6B1G9tLDpvbjOW_zikp56iZlifxLQbZU0hnvTg2F2Gq7esJj/s1600/Screen+Shot+2014-02-23+at+4.48.45+PM.png" height="130" width="200" /></a>3. Kale. I have recently been loooving kale. I buy it prewashed from Trader Joe's, de-stem it and place it in a salad bowl with a small mixture of olive oil and soy sauce- sounds weird but its amazing. Then I add some avocado. This is an easy and tasty salad and only takes a few minutes with minimal ingredients. If you have access to an oven, mix the kale in a big bowl with a tablespoon of olive oil and soy sauce. Make sure that the kale is dry before mixing it with the ingredients. Place the kale on a baking sheet and bake at 375 until the kale turns crispy. Delicious! If you enjoy the taste of kale, try it with just olive oil and sea salt (same procedure).<br />
<br /></div>

<div>
4. Steamed veggies. These are great for college, especially since you can throw them in the microwave and they cook inside the bag. Super cheap and easy! Trader Joe's has great ones and so does the SteamFresh brand that you can find at Target.<br />

5. Spaghetti Squash. If you have access to an oven this is a great alternative to pasta (I might even like it more!) Cut the squash in half, scoop out the seeds and drizzle the squash with a little olive oil. Place it face up in the oven with about an inch of water on the pan for around 40 minutes at 375. I prefer to eat it either with a little salt and parmesan or my favorite pasta sauce. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
6. Fruit, fruit, fruit. I can't stress enough how great it is to start off your day with fruit. Whether it be a smoothie, granola with berries, or just fruit alone, this is my favorite way to start my morning. A cheap and easy way to make smoothies is to buy the prepackaged frozen fruit, but make sure there aren't any preservatives. Trader Joe's is really good with that, but if you go to Target, for example, be sure to read the ingredients. </div>

<div>
<br />
7. Green Tea. Another thing I cannot walk out the door in the morning without having. I love green tea. I drink between 2 and 4 cups a day. I have gotten to the point where I don't even need sugar. There are amazing health benefits to green tea and it's a perfect alternative if you don't enjoy drinking coffee. If you don't enjoy green tea, try and drink any type of bagged, natural tea and check the ingredients!<br />
<br />

Rice cakes. Rice cakes with peanut butter & jelly are a great alternative to using bread. They're light, crispy and tasty!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Now that I have a full kitchen in college, I have become absolutely obsessed with cooking healthy dinners and snacks for myself. It has become one of the highlights of my day. It makes me feel great knowing that I am putting good food into my system and I'm not sitting around eating Oreos and Doritos. </div>

What are your favorite healthy snacks?<br />

I just settle for whatever I have at the moment and I've never really used a great lotion for my skin. However, after using the Alba Sea Lipids Daily Cream, I now realize how important it is.<br />
<br />
This lotion caught my eye because it's supposed to help the appearance of skin to make it look more even and less blotchy/dull. It's also hypoallergenic and Alba is generally a more natural based brand. It's paraben free, too- very important!<br />
<br />
I am almost finished with this product and I will be repurchasing it. It's a really light moisturizer but it's still hydrating. It doesn't clog my pores or cause me to break out at all. I actually feel like it has improved my skins texture. This lotion has a nice, fresh scent, but it's not overpowering. It wears nicely under makeup and doesn't cause me to get greasy during the day. One thing I will say is that if I shower with this on my face at night, it tends to get in my eyes and this stuff burns a little. So watch out for that.<br />
<br />
The container has lasted me about a month and a half and it costs $16.99, so it's not too bad on the price. I would recommend this for any skin type. This comes in a night cream as well and I'm interested in trying that out, too. You can find this at most drugstores, Target, and some health food stores.<br />

I have lots of posts planned out so prepare yourselves for makeup overload!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Today's post is on an item that I have always, always wanted but never felt the urge to splurge on lipstick. Luckily, I received it for Christmas!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>

Hands down. They are extremely pigmented, creamy, glossy and luxurious. The only drawback is that they're $34... but its YSL, people! I got one in the color "Fuchsia in Excess" (5). Its a hot hot hot pink and it looks nice on pale skin (me.) These also taste and smell delicious. Not only that, but they are really moisturizing as well which is often hard to find in a lipstick. Nothing like sticky MAC lipsticks. I loved the feeling of 5 so much that I went to Sephora and got the Volupt<span style="font-size: 16px;">é</span> Sheer Candy in 03 Juicy Grapefruit which is just clear with a hint of shimmer. It actually tastes like candy, not kidding! Now, for $32 this may seem crazy to spend on something that is essentially a chaptstick, but let me tell you... My lips haven't been chapped since! The sales woman at Sephora told me these are pumped with vitamins and rosemary oil which is supposed to be really great for your lips. And by how they feel, I'd have to say I agree! Basically, if nothing else, you put this on and it feels like you've gone to heaven... They're that good. </span><br />

I recently got my hair done at a local salon and to my surprise, they had Inglot makeup! I've never seen these products in person, so I was pretty excited. Inglot is known for their customizable eyeshadow palettes at a great price for being highend. I ended up getting two eyeshadows at $7.20 a piece, and a lip liner at $12. Since the eyeshadows are magnetic and don't come with packaging, I had to also buy a "Freedom System 2 Eye Shadow Square." This was kind of annoying, but I guess it makes sense when you have a lot of the shadows because you can pick and choose what goes in your palette. </div>

Both shadows have a really great consistency. They glide on super smooth, don't get clumpy and are amazingly pigmented, especially 423. They lasted all day with a primer and stayed true to color to the moment I wiped them off my eyes. And I must say they looked really good together and blended flawlessly! </div>

The packaging is fantastic. I like that you can pop out the shadows and change what goes in the palette. The magnetic closure is really secure and so is the eyeshadow when you pop it in. I had to hit it on a table to have it fall out. It's nice and sleek as well. </div>

The last thing I picked up is a Soft Precision Lip Liner in number 62. This is a deep red color that seems to be really buildable. I wore it on its own one night to see how long it would last, and by the time I got home (4 hours max) it had pretty much worn off. So, although this is a really pretty color, the lasting power is pretty pathetic. I hadn't eaten or had anything to drink either, but I will say that it goes on nicely.</div>

I definitely want to try more Inglot products in the future because for the price, they are a great buy! The salon had a ton of products from foundation to mascara to lipgloss and makeup wipes. They are known for their wide selection of matte shades but unfortunately were out when I bought these. Check out their website for their full range of products-- <a href="http://www.inglotusa.com/" target="_blank">http://www.inglotusa.com/</a></div>

But that means Christmas is coming soon!! Here are my favorite makeup items from the past month that I have worn every day I've put on makeup.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfGfvlsnUU7ywsXyn-Lo_kULDM0J40qajgxpvtDPzHkj8t7eFZX8R0_TSeNqPybSRuqIp_waqfXOXj8Z_4ymuClNIgkmQeX6ZkXGvtwRjRCugtOyBqzXpeMMNAVpnbHo1FzjHMCEopd6tt/s1600/IMG_0150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfGfvlsnUU7ywsXyn-Lo_kULDM0J40qajgxpvtDPzHkj8t7eFZX8R0_TSeNqPybSRuqIp_waqfXOXj8Z_4ymuClNIgkmQeX6ZkXGvtwRjRCugtOyBqzXpeMMNAVpnbHo1FzjHMCEopd6tt/s200/IMG_0150.JPG" width="200" /></a></div>
My first favorite is something I have been stealing from my sister since I have been home from college-- Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Translucent. Amazing. It keeps me matte all day long and isn't heavy or cake-y. Obsessed.<br />
<br />

I think I may have to go buy this. I was always skeptical of the Photo Finishes because I've heard that they break people out, but not this one! It really does help to keep your foundation and makeup on all day and now I know it won't cause any breakouts! </span><br />

If I'm not wearing one I'm wearing the other. The one on the left is Benefit's Hervana which is really nice if you have pale skin like me. When you swirl the 4 colors together it creates a really pretty dusty pink. The one on the right is also another boxed powder from Benefit called Dandelion. This one is really similar except it's slightly less pigmented. But (weird) it smells really good. It's got a floral scent, possibly smells like a dandelion? Not sure.. I am definitely buying this full size once I run out of my sample.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Next is a tried and true product that I just got back into the swing of using when I ran out of my previous eyeliner. Maybelline's Line Stiletto! Such a good one for winged eyeliner. This is from the drugstore so it's cheap and it works really well. Win-win! It glides on nicely, doesn't get sticky or clumpy, and it's got a quality consistency (not too watery or dry). Lasts all day, too!<br />

I previously reviewed this and I wasn't thrilled. But after using it for over a month, I can now say that I love it! It makes my eyelashes look amazing and I have no complaints. Here is my full review -- <a href="http://msmakeup0914.blogspot.com/2013/10/first-impressions-covergirl-flamed-out.html" target="_blank">click me</a>.<br />

Something new I've been trying lately is filling in my brows. I have really light blonde hair so naturally my eyebrows are really light as well. Sometimes I want them to be a bit more bold but I cant go too harsh or they noticeably look fake. Using a pencil to fill them in is not the move for me, but I finally found something that works -- Benefit Gimme Brow! I'm in the shade light/medium and it gives me just enough color that my brows don't look so... clear... It's becoming a must have pretty much every day. <br />

I'll link my review <a href="http://msmakeup0914.blogspot.com/2013/11/review-simple-oil-balancing-cleansing.html" target="_blank">here</a> . These things are the bommmmb. They're oil balancing yet not drying! They don't break me out and they make my skin feel really soft. Couldn't be better.<br />

<br />
1. Beanie hats. OBSESSED. My sister makes fun of me for wearing them but I don't even care. I think they're so cute and can look fashion forward. Since it's cold now I can wear them everyday, too! I got this one off of amazon for like $2, but you can find these pretty much anywhere these days.<br />
<br />
2. LuluLemon leggings. I got my first pair for my birthday in September and before that I never understood why someone would spend upwards of $80 on leggings. Now I know. They are more comfortable than any other leggings I have and they can look decent (not like ew she's wearing leggings...) What I love most about them is that they're extra form fitting all the way down the leg so they look great with boots. The ones I have are the Wonder Under style.<br />
<br />

What have been your favorite products from the month of November?<br />

And lets be real- when an episode of the Kardashians are on you can't not watch them (admit it!) Being a beauty junkie, I've always wanted to try their makeup line. I mean, they have professional makeup artists do their faces every day so they've got to know something! Well, I took the plunge and got two of their mascaras. And I'm happy to say I am really pleased! The one I'll be talking about in today's review is called <i>Whip Lash Eyelash Health Mascara</i>.<br />
<div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">$9.99, Ulta</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
I decided to try this one because it has a really interesting brush. On one side is like a smaller version of the Maybelline Great Lash and on the other side it's got longer bristles that taper out towards the end.<br />
<br />
I must say this mascara is pretty good... Its more lengthening than volumizing. I curled my lashes with my Sephora eyelash curler. I used the flat side first and coated all my lashes and then I went in with the longer side of the wand and it really lengthens your lashes. It's got the idea of Maybelline the Falsies, except better. Someone actually asked me if I was wearing false eyelashes! And for that I say, way to go Kardashians! It held up really well throughout the day, too. It came off a little bit on the bottom, but I touch my eyes a lot so this isn't surprising. This mascara would look even better if you first used one coat of a volumizing mascara and then did the flat side of the Whip Lash and then the longer side. My one complaint is that the formula is very dry and the tube is really small (extremely skinny, probably on purpose...) so I can see this running out quickly. Anyways, still a good product!</div>
<br />
<br />
Test it out, it's worth the money!<br />

This mascara is absolutely horrible, which is disappointing because Bare Minerals makes really great products (usually.) Most of the reviews I have read are pretty positive, but I completely disagree on this one. This mascara is extremely clumpy. I mean look at the brush... The way it twists and curls creates a thick line between the bristles which allows for a lot of product build up. I think thats why it gets so clumpy. It's an interesting idea for a brush but it just failed. The first coat looked okay (more bad than good,) but when I went in for the second coat my lashes got really spidery and thick, but in a bad, clumpy, ugly way. For me to get out the door with this mascara on my lashes, I had to go in with Clump Crusher and brush out all the clumps. I would not recommend this to anyone. Save your $18 and buy something else. The look of this brush reminds be of a twisted version of Buxom mascara, which is my all time favorite. Take the $18 and buy that! It has never ever failed me!<br />
<br />
I will say one good thing about this- the packaging is cool! I love the metallic silver tube and the twisted top! So props on that...<br />

Today's post is about proper makeup for a job interview. I had one today and I really liked how my look turned out so I thought I'd share! You definitely don't want too much, so to get my natural look keep on reading ---> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMfXrNmsHophyphenhyphen70YiEwr0y5K2lU5r5f7QsT3108shBfOfyUb5tg28zv4K7FBRwbUvNZ7OMp-4p1bxgoe8Y0-WRyz_At9ti-OeUhNmYUifGmJxpnGdfGr1cm1pkxiwvyNfflEuBdU2aqySO/s1600/D2S_3677.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMfXrNmsHophyphenhyphen70YiEwr0y5K2lU5r5f7QsT3108shBfOfyUb5tg28zv4K7FBRwbUvNZ7OMp-4p1bxgoe8Y0-WRyz_At9ti-OeUhNmYUifGmJxpnGdfGr1cm1pkxiwvyNfflEuBdU2aqySO/s320/D2S_3677.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. First, use a primer to make sure your foundation lasts all day and doesn't get shiny. You don't want your interviewer to think you're dirty! I used Smashbox Photo Finish Blemish Control. Using your fingers, put this all over your face but be sure to focus on the middle of your face because that is where makeup tends to thin out during the day.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Apply a natural, matte foundation using a dense foundation brush. I used Makeup Forever's Mat Velvet (LOVE.) This stuff lasts a long time- takes about 5+ hours to get shiny on my face, which is really good! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Set your foundation with a translucent (or natural color) powder. I used Laura Mercier's Translucent loose powder and it worked so well. Really great product, but a little on the pricey side.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Apply a light & pretty blush to give you a little flush. Take Benefit's Hervana to the apples of your cheeks, but don't use too much!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Before applying eyeshadow be sure to use a primer. Do not forget this or your eyeshadow will crease and it'll look like a mess! Urban Decay Primer Potions are the best. My eye makeup still looks perfect at the end of the day whenever I use this. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
6. To get the most natural eye look I used Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette. I put W.O.S. all over the lid, Naked 2 in the crease, a very small amount of Faint in the outer crease and Foxy with a bit of Venus as a brow highlight. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
7. Apply a thin line of eyeliner on your upper lash line and flick it out to get a slight wing. Don't go overboard on this step because you really don't want too much. I tried out Essence's Super Fine Eyeliner Pen because it's incredibly thin & I really liked it! And it's $2.99 from Ulta! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
8. Top it off with your favorite mascara! Today I used Bare Minerals Lash Domination, but I did not like it at all... Review coming soon. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
9. Finally, apply a little bit of lip product. I chose one of my favorite Baby Lips in Peach Kiss. Its really neutral with a slight bit of shimmer and shine. You could go for a light pink if you wanted something a little more fun. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
To me, this is the greatest hair product on the planet. I have gone through three or four full size tubs and I've never looked back! If your hair is feeling dull, if your highlights are drying out your hair, or you just want a really good deep conditioner, this is for you! Macadamia Oil is really great for your hair because it heals, nourishes and rejuvenates. This brand uses Argan Oil and Tea Tree Oil as well. Read on to see a full review ----><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
1. <b>Scent.</b> AMAZING. It's really earthy, yet very sweet, kind of fruity. It has a very rich scent and it definitely lingers on your hair, which is something I look for. I cant exactly pin point the notes, but take my word for it, it smells like heaven. If it came in a perfume or candle, I would buy it.<br />
<br />
2. <b>Feel.</b> I have tried many, many hair products over the years, but this mask is unlike any other. It makes my hair softer than anything. It has a thick consistency, which I love, yet you don't need a ton of this. A little bit goes a long way because it really spreads throughout your hair. I have pretty frizzy hair, and when I use this, the frizz is mostly gone and it makes each strand incredibly smooth. If you consistently use this, it will transform the texture of your hair to be smooth and silky!<br />
<br />
3. <b>Usage.</b> I like to use this once a week and leave it in for about 10 minutes from my ears down. I have also left this in for hours with saran wrap over it after a bad hair dying job and it made my hair feel so much better. I have also used this as a daily conditioner because I have very course and thick hair (you only need a tiiiiiny bit!) I would not recommend doing that if you have thin or fine hair because it might be too powerful. I always brush out my hair right before I wash out the product to make sure it was evenly distributed.<br />
<br />
4. <b>Packaging.</b> Adorable! It reminds me of a little coconut. It has a brown hawaiian/floral pattern with green accents. It also has a matte finish which is a nice touch.<br />
<br />
5. <b>Price. </b>This product is more on the pricey side. The full size tub (8.5oz) is $36. But if you try it, you'll know it's worth it! They do sell single 1oz packages for those who want to get a few uses out and see if you like it ($4.) I have found it on amazon for $5-10 cheaper. The 8.5oz usually lasts me about 5-6 months.<br />
<br />
From this line I have also used the shampoo, conditioner, healing oil treatment, healing oil spray, and nourishing leave in cream. All equally as amazing as the next! I am really interested in trying the new dry shampoo, but it is a little pricey for the size of the can. I am also dying to try this --- <a href="http://www.macadamiahair.com/products/view/flawless" target="_blank">CLICK ME!</a><br />

Urban Decay is coming out with the NAKED3 PALETTE! Being the proud owner of both the Naked and Naked2 Palettes, I have to add Naked3 to the family. I mean she can't be left out, right?<br />
<br />
Like the other palettes, this one comes with 12 shades. Yet, unlike the first and second palettes, this one is filled with way more peachy/rose tones. Still all neutral like the pervious palettes. Most of the shadows seem to be shimmery but there are 2 mattes. And supposedly all of the shades are new! All of them look seeeriously gorgeous and to me, Urban Decay is one of the best. Don't think that this is palette is just like the first two because it's not! The first palette has a different tone than the second and same with the third.<br />
<br />
This one retails for $52 which yes, seems like a lot, but you're getting 12 shades and a double sided shadow brush. That comes out to about $4 per shadow, not including the brush. If you are a beginner with eye makeup, then any of these palettes would be perfect for you! You can create so many different looks and each shade is extremely pigmented and soft. Partially because of the packaging, but also because they're top of the line. I have only tried their Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, which is great, but that is it. I hear nothing but good things about Chanel! There are two items I am dying to try from them.<br />
<br />
First, the Les Tissages De Chanel blush in Tweed Brun Rose. It has a woven, tweed print on the powder! How cool!? This blush looks like it would give you that natural glow with a slight bit of shimmer. It's a peachy pink/coral/brown color and it looks so pretty! Really unique. This retails for $45.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMoftDhBwsiJ1fQGgYKU3wnUJVX-xMYm_9ItJ0XVk_h0DhYaJs39zvCVLjWmpsgOxEyjogMNT3rp5YrAbWde7hTrl46V2R4CAiXd3n-O1NaJXa3szxzHJGk-wQWibB8X8EqxJAql9YjjFW/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-15+at+7.28.20+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMoftDhBwsiJ1fQGgYKU3wnUJVX-xMYm_9ItJ0XVk_h0DhYaJs39zvCVLjWmpsgOxEyjogMNT3rp5YrAbWde7hTrl46V2R4CAiXd3n-O1NaJXa3szxzHJGk-wQWibB8X8EqxJAql9YjjFW/s320/Screen+Shot+2013-11-15+at+7.28.20+PM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Next, I am obsessed with the Ombres Metaleassees eyeshadow palette. It comes with 5 shades that look soooo beautiful. A light beige color, three shades of darker brown and a really dark, vampy purple. The purple would look sweet as an eyeliner. Some seem to be matte and some are shimmery. And they have the quilted print on them! This is limited edition so if I lose my mind and decide to spend $80 on an eyeshadow palette, I'll let you guys know..<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU9hnP9Myf07395IGgsyI_zBq_tA9LvFrlxJe-fLrtlWVEC4-3BfX8AAhOaTityYYf5dRPt_9oLo6wXI80pDhmKuL2daGCUwugyK8R-3RYw0vAVdAZJykVEe-pQoXIknFgKb_8W06dqx8e/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-15+at+7.18.30+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="241" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU9hnP9Myf07395IGgsyI_zBq_tA9LvFrlxJe-fLrtlWVEC4-3BfX8AAhOaTityYYf5dRPt_9oLo6wXI80pDhmKuL2daGCUwugyK8R-3RYw0vAVdAZJykVEe-pQoXIknFgKb_8W06dqx8e/s320/Screen+Shot+2013-11-15+at+7.18.30+PM.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

Its all shiny and black with the simple CC logo on it. What more could you want?! And can we just take a moment to view their $34 eyelash curler....<br />

The pre-made brush cleaners are often expensive, so I have a cheap alternative: Johnson's No More Tears Regular Baby Shampoo. I used to use the Sonia Kashuk one (Target, $6.99) and honestly, I think the Johnson's works better. It's about $2.99 from Target. Can't beat it! Because this shampoo is for babies, it is extremely gentile, even enough for your precious brushes. Plus, it has a great, clean scent!<br />
<br />
To clean, all you need to do is place your brush under warm running water (bristles down so that water doesn't get into the brush handle) and get the brush completely wet. Place a small amount of Johnson's into your palm and swish the brush around until most of the brown/pink comes out. Wash off the soap and repeat this process until the soap comes out white and clean with no color. Gently squeeze out the water and place the brushes flat on a towel to dry overnight. Simple as that!<br />
<br />
If you have a lot of brushes this can be time consuming, especially for large, dense face brushes. It can sometimes take up to three washes. But it's worth it! Dirty brushes hold bacteria and germs that you do NOT want to spread around on your face. I recommend washing your foundation brushes a few times a week and all other brushes maybe once every 1-2 weeks, realistically. Who is really going to take hours a week cleaning their brushes?? For spot treatment, I know this isn't the most effective thing, but I just wipe my brushes off on a clean tissue. Not the best, but it gets some of the powder off!<br />
<br />
Be sure to try this out!<br />

Love! Simple is a great drugstore line because they use ingredients that are good for your skin. No alcohol, no artificial perfume or dyes, they're dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, and <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

hypoallergenic! There are a few different types in the Simple line, but these ones are for oily, sensitive skin (me.) I am obsessed with these things. I get excited to take my makeup off at night just because I know I get to use these wipes! They are unlike any makeup remover wipes I have previously used because they leave my skin incredibly soft! Literally feels like I just put on moisturizer! They're not greasy, gentile on the eyes and all over the face. The classic Neutrogena ones (which I usually use) always leave my skin feeling weird, sort of a film feeling over my face. They get the job done, but not great. These ones however, remove my makeup just as well and my face feels great after! I use these at night before washing my face, but the packaging says that they control shine as well. So, I would definitely use these during the day when I am not wearing makeup and my skin feels like it needs a little pick-me-up. I got them from Ulta for $5.99 and they come in a pack with 25 wipes. I think these are going to be my new holy grail item. I think they might be improving my skin, too!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Try this tip to get the best look out of your mascara! It's like prep for the actual product. Take an old tube of mascara that you loved (in particular the wand) and clean it up with makeup remover. Let it dry before use. Take your clean mascara wand and brush through your lashes prior to applying a coat of your actual mascara. This trick helps to brush out and separate your lashes and makes for a smoother application! And it'll cost you nothing but an old tube!</div>

Silicone Based Hair Products<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSqj_Mw1i13Unw60_Ov9_kk6q-Xp9rWIxIFSeyffem9QadtK2q2z5B1dw9H7_R7BqOnOjVhmOfJoOptEP_WFk0pNDbqrPLsVfi6JvRQrxtnmYXQpZBJbuNkiEgbaOVuP6GBR-DS9gp4tg4/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-08+at+1.08.42+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgSqj_Mw1i13Unw60_Ov9_kk6q-Xp9rWIxIFSeyffem9QadtK2q2z5B1dw9H7_R7BqOnOjVhmOfJoOptEP_WFk0pNDbqrPLsVfi6JvRQrxtnmYXQpZBJbuNkiEgbaOVuP6GBR-DS9gp4tg4/s320/Screen+Shot+2013-11-08+at+1.08.42+AM.png" width="137" /></a>I was recently watching a video on the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner containing wax. This intrigued me, so I looked into it and I found out what the wax really was...<br />
<br />
Have you heard of silicone? Well, it's a cheap filler that companies put into hair products, like conditioner, to make the hair seem shiny, soft, healthy and smooth when it really doesn't do anything of the sort. The product coats your hair in silicone, giving off the soft feeling, but in actuality it's choking your precious strands! This compound also leads to build up, which is no fun.<br />
<br />
Think about it, when you buy a cheap shampoo/conditioner from the drugstore, what happens? You use it for a while and it works pretty well, gets the job done, but suddenly you get the feeling that the product isn't doing anything anymore. I used to say my hair was just used to the product, but now I know that it's covered in silicone!<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS0yppvNJIEUvdvZhCmN2Yg-iO8_5qcfVDXan7WZc54FLdH3McnSUYN8zEof_j1Yh3HAgHI96B5Q2P68tQ17spuvBdC1-3ATTeDIcu6v2DN5P9uQ_v3om9QMjAr2pXekFhzkDF9JT_Mdmd/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-08+at+12.33.24+AM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS0yppvNJIEUvdvZhCmN2Yg-iO8_5qcfVDXan7WZc54FLdH3McnSUYN8zEof_j1Yh3HAgHI96B5Q2P68tQ17spuvBdC1-3ATTeDIcu6v2DN5P9uQ_v3om9QMjAr2pXekFhzkDF9JT_Mdmd/s200/Screen+Shot+2013-11-08+at+12.33.24+AM.png" width="129" /></a>When your hair is covered in this slime, any product you put in your hair after your shower will basically do nothing. It will go on top of the silicone and just sit there (even more build up...) And the only way to get it out of your hair is to use a clarifying shampoo (most silicones are not water soluble.) The only one I've ever tried is the Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo. Now, when you first use this, don't be turned off! It makes your hair feel pretty weird, but that's because it strips off all the gross product buildup from months of use.<br />
<br />
I am not saying that silicone is the worst thing in the world for your hair, because everyone uses these products, but it's really doing your hair no good. So, try to find products that don't contain the word "cone" "one" "col" "conol" "xane" in the ingredients list. I'll be honest, it's sometimes really hard. Go for the most natural product you can find with the least ingredients or a brand that is known for being natural based. Water soluble silicones (will wash out since they're water based) that are okay to use are titled "behenoxy dimethicone" and "stearoxy dimethicone" in the ingredients list.<br />

Your hair will thank you!<br />

<br />
It is with much sadness that I have to admit that my favorite hair product in the world contains this horrible ingredient... MACADAMIA NATURAL OIL DEEP REPAIR MASK. Now... I do know for a fact that it also contains really great ingredients like Macadamia oil, Argan oil and Tea Tree Leaf oil, so this one's a toss up. (We all know I am still going to purchase, shhhh...)<br />
<br />
What do you think about silicones? Will you ditch them or keep buying?<br />

<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikSZXnbLkjvCLcNyGDRMNWb4M7lbHxF_nfKidqSSP5Bb8zx02xYfZ0mIkw0H2fPe6vojGqVt668HV_J5xbSbKkfk0XLMOhzCZeBONihsw7QzXSJ1ylwnQfNbu8Hu-b5UmqhluvQFcHtv2Y/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-05+at+7.31.29+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikSZXnbLkjvCLcNyGDRMNWb4M7lbHxF_nfKidqSSP5Bb8zx02xYfZ0mIkw0H2fPe6vojGqVt668HV_J5xbSbKkfk0XLMOhzCZeBONihsw7QzXSJ1ylwnQfNbu8Hu-b5UmqhluvQFcHtv2Y/s200/Screen+Shot+2013-11-05+at+7.31.29+PM.png" width="189" /></a>My first favorite comes from Benefit Cosmetics, my favorite makeup brand. It's the Sizzlin' Six set ($27, Ulta.) I love everything in this. I was originally going to buy the Porefessional primer and Benetint, but then I found this! The kit comes with all the classic Benefit items: Bad Gal Lash, Dandelion Blush & Gloss, Porefessional, Benetint, and Girl Meets Pearl Highlight. All of these products are great and worth the money! If you've never tried anything from Benefit then I would suggest this set. I've been using Dandelion everyday- soo pretty!<br />
<br />
My next fav is the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness foundation. This stuff is greaaaattt. I've been using it every day I have worn makeup for the past 2 weeks or so and it always looks really good. It's super natural but covers incredibly! Here is a link to the post I made solely to this product: <a href="http://msmakeup0914.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2013-10-23T17:51:00-07:00&max-results=7" target="_blank">IT</a><br />

My skin has been really bad recently and this stuff covers every blemish right up. It's really really creamy and smooth, the perfect consistency! Also really inexpensive. This is a must have from the drugstore!<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS2cs0ylFKRd20HgCjzid2r02r9YFxmadZkSmcacKdUmveOYzY43cdwWfHdJ2RLUhwsamMWccN5BaTuwx5GTUPMxac_Z5qv7CDNkYOAAg_33xC8sitGgtxIj_cndZbk484RKSeS0K0srLT/s1600/Screen+Shot+2013-11-05+at+9.29.10+PM.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="95" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjS2cs0ylFKRd20HgCjzid2r02r9YFxmadZkSmcacKdUmveOYzY43cdwWfHdJ2RLUhwsamMWccN5BaTuwx5GTUPMxac_Z5qv7CDNkYOAAg_33xC8sitGgtxIj_cndZbk484RKSeS0K0srLT/s200/Screen+Shot+2013-11-05+at+9.29.10+PM.png" width="200" /></a><br />
I bought my first product from NuMe in September. I got the Classic curling wand and flat iron for $69!!! Together they retail for almost $400, soo I scored hard core. The straightener is good, but the wand is GREAT. It's clip-less so it makes it really easy to curl your hair and I'm just obsessed with it! YouTubers always have amazing coupon codes for all NuMe products, especially itsbl0ndie (Casey Homes). <a href="http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxj0QizmFhx7kVKSArHBCTA" target="_blank">Here is her channel</a>.<br />
<br />
My final makeup favorite is doing a simple eye. I have been really into curling my lashes, doing a winged liner and adding some mascara. It's quick and easy and always a go to. I've also been liking pencil liner, surprisingly. I'm usually just a pen liner girl, but not this month! Free tip: it helps to put black shadow over the line with a really thin pencil brush.<br />

Music favorite! JOHN LEGEND. My roommate and I are going to his concert this Sunday and I cannot wait. His voice is smooth as silk, one of the most beautiful voices I have heard in a long time. My two favorite songs by him are currently <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=450p7goxZqg" target="_blank">All Of Me</a> and <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRpjsFcb2uo" target="_blank">Made To Love</a>. Another music favorite is Spotify. I've had it for about a month now and I am completely addicted. I will rarely buy a song from iTunes now because Spotify allows you to listen to whatever you want as long as you are connected to the internet- genius!<br />
<br />
That's it for my favorites! What have you been loving this past month?<br />

Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This balm must be made of gold. It's $27!! Elle Fowler from AllThatGlitters21 absolutely raves about this and she has totally sold me. It's supposed to smell like roses and be smooth as silk. It has SPF 10 in it... That's a justification to buy a $27 lip balm... right?</span></span><br />

Nume Special Edition 35mm Curling wand. </span></span><span style="background-color: #eeeeee; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">This wand is really interesting because it's flat and only has a little clip at the end. <span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Another very expensive product that I wouldn't buy on a daily basis. This baby runs for $34... But let me tell ya, I used my friends once and it was the smoothest, tastiest, most beautiful lip product I have ever tried. Amazing color payoff as well, but if you blot it you can also get a really nice sheer shade. I must have my own. They have 19 beautiful colors. And come on, look at that packaging. To die for. </span></span><br />

Chloe Original Perfume</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is my #1 favorite perfume. I only have it in the roller ball though because the biggest size happens to be $120. Ridiculous, but it smells like heaven. I could never come up with this on my own, so heres what Sephora says: <span style="line-height: 17px;">Top notes of pink peony, freesia, and lychee embody subtle freshness. At the heart, midnotes of magnolia flower, lily of the valley, and rose rise to sublimated femininity. A base of velvety elegance comes to fruition through cedarwood, amber, and honey. DELICIOUS. If you haven't smell this, you have to make a stop at Sephora immediately! Perfume gift sets also make great gifts!</span></span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; line-height: 17px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6. Lorac PRO To Go Eye/Cheek Palette</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee; line-height: 17px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This is always raved about on YouTube, so obviously I have to get my hands on it. It comes with two blushes, 6 shadows and a bronzer. It's great for traveling, not that I travel a lot, but whatever. Its... compact. It retails for $38 with a value of $210. I have never tried anything from Lorac, so I think this will be a great starter piece. </span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Okay sooooo Demi Lovato is my absolute idol- fashion, hair, vocals, the whole package. And if you don't follow her on instagram (what are you doing with your life?) she always has the coolest nails done by Steph Stone who I believe created The New Black polish line. This set comes with a black polish and two different gold accent pieces to place on top of the black. So cool. I want. Heres a pic from Demi's twitter. </span></span><br />

MAC RiRi Her Coco Eyeshadow x4</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I keep finding myself looking at the MAC RiRi collection and this is the thing I always go back to. This eyeshadow quad comes with 4 (duh, quad) shadows- all really pretty golden shades. MAC makes the absolute best shadows in the biz so this is something I have got to get my hands on.... BUT it's sold out everywhere so I'm going to have to do some serious hunting to get my hands on this one. </span></span><br />

<span style="background-color: #eeeeee;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">OH MY GOD. Almond. Coconut. Laura Mercier. What more do you want in life?! Laura Mercier is the shiz but it's like so expensive its stupid. This creme is $55, so obviously I wouldn't buy this on my own (broke college student with no job probs). This scent also comes in a body scrub, body wash, hand cream, etc. It smells so good. I'm about to put this at the top of my list. I can't wait to try this!! Let me know if you have!</span></span><br />

I need a space to put my perfumes, jewelry, lotions, random things. It also comes with a mirror, so although this is not a necessity, it would be really nice to have. You could store makeup in here as well. It has three drawers and storage on each door. Really compact and great for storage! </span></span><br />
